Commonly known as “five flavor fruit”, our schisandra berry comes from the province of Shaanzi in China, and has been widely used in Chinese traditional medicine.
From these schisandra berries, we extract a key active ingredient with soothing and anti-redness properties which can be found in our very sensitive skin range.
Schisandra is a twining shrub which is widespread in the temperate forests of Central China. It grows in the wild.
The schisandra berries are picked traditionally, by hand, by local inhabitants from surrounding villages, creating sustaining jobs for several hundred people. Its collecting process therefore has no negative impact on the environment. The dried berries are crushed and extracted by enzymatic hydrolysis. The drying takes place in China, where it is picked.
